Imagine this.
Driving away.
Driving away from your home.
The only home you have ever known.
Away from your family.
Away from your siblings.
You pass your school and the park.
You pass your doctor’s office and friend’s house.
Into a new town.
A town you have never visited.
A town you have never heard of.
To a home you have never seen.
Full of people you have never met.
Imagine this.
Now, imagine being 2 or 3 or 10 or 11 or 15 or 16.
It did not make it easier imagining it at 11 or 15 or 16, did it…?
Now imagine, being expected to behave, and act normal, and get good grades, and be respectful, and talkative, and open, and willing, and loving….
Seems a little ridiculous doesn’t it?
Imagine this.
Opening your door to that 2 or 3 or 10 or 11 or 15 or 16-year-old.
Opening your life to him.
Opening the door to her.
Taking a chance.
Planting a seed.
Showing him love.
Showing her compassion.
Giving him grace.
Giving her respect.
Making a difference.
Changing a life.
Imagine it.
Now, do it.
