Sadly, I stayed in one for way too long, and kept crawling back.
Crawling back for acceptance.
Crawling back for recognition.
One more good grade.
One more degree.
One more achievement.

One more career advancement.
One more day sober.

Sober.
Unlike most 21-year olds, I did not partake in the first legal drink tradition.
And unlike most teenagers, I never took part in those first illegal drinks either.
Am I upset about this? Yes and no.
Ultimately, I am who I am because of my past and I probably made enough mistakes in my past without the assistance of alcohol and a young mind.
However, I am upset as to why I never took part in that first legal drink.
My mom.
For reasons not involving me, my mom and dad did not drink alcohol my entire life.
It was a promise between them that I latched onto.
Not so much latched onto but was forced into.
Promoting sobriety is admirable… Just not the way it was done in my household.
Ever watched The Waterboy??? — Mama says alcohol is the devil.
That pretty much sums it up.
Well, I’m 27 years old and no longer have that relationship to crawl back to, sooooo…

Mine is a margarita hands down! However, tequila can be pretty hard to jump into. So if you want a marg with your Mexican good, I suggest getting one that has a mixture of orange juice in it. Makes it a lot better! Also, the drink sex on the beach is good! It has cranberry juice and orange juice so it’s an easy one to go for!!
